The Audiology Offices provides audiology diagnostic and rehabilitative services to infants, children and adults in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula Areas of the Virginia Chesapeake Bay area. In addition to our main office, located in Kilmarnock, we provide full service diagnostic audiology services in three satellite offices, located in Gloucester, Warsaw and Mathews, Virginia. The practice is the only audiology facility serving these counties in approximately a 250-mile radius.
We provide hearing solutions and recommendations, including the evaluation, selection and training of hearing devices to the pediatric and adult population. We work with various levels of hearing aid technology and incorporate advanced electro acoustic analysis assessment to maximize hearing success. Aural rehabilitation and patient counseling is an integral part of our ongoing patient service.
Our practice is an approved follow-up site for the Virginia Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program and a referral source for local pediatricians and other pediatric referral sources. Internists, family practice physicians and other health care providers refer numerous patients for audiology services. The practice provides consultations to local schools including training school nurses on hearing screening protocol. The educational component of our practice includes consultations to enhance learning for hearing-impaired students and to recommend, train and help maintain FM systems for hearing impaired students and other assistive devices.

Karen Shelton joined The Audiology Offices in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant and now serves as its Business Manager and Audiology Assistant. Karen's administrative skills and commitment to patient care exemplify the best of the best.
Karen works out of the main office in Kilmarnock, Monday through Friday. She expertly manages all patient billing, including the ever time consuming task of working with health insurance companies. Karen has completed certification as an Audiology Assistant for Diagnostic Testing. Our patients are happy when they walk in our office with non functioning hearing instruments, and most of the time, she can diagnose and repair the device on the spot. If the device needs factory service, she will provide a loaner hearing instrument if necessary.
Karen resides with her husband Mike and two daughters, Nicole and Danielle in Lancaster County.
