Ann graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown W.VA with a B.S. in Speech Pathology/Audiology. She earned a Masters degree in Education of the Hearing Impaired and Audiology from Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, PA. Ann completed an advanced doctoral degree program in Audiology from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, AZ.
Ann began her career working with hearing impaired students and providing hearing resources to educators and families. Anns fifteen years as a regional consultant for a major U.S. hearing aid manufacturer provided a solid foundation in hearing aid technology. Ann has an extensive background in hearing counseling and rehabilitative services. These skills give Ann the tools she needs to provide practical solutions to improve hearing. She is eager to share her knowledge and to help you hear better.
Ann is a licensed audiologist in Virginia and Maryland. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology and has earned board certification. She also holds a Virginia Hearing Aid Specialist license. She is committed to on-going education and has earned awards for continuing education credits.
In an audiology career that spans twenty-four year, Linda Carr-Kraft, a native Virginian, has served in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, university clinics and private practice offices. In addition, she was an instructor of audiology at The University of Maryland, Gallaudet University and Longwood College in Virginia. Linda also served as an education and training specialist for an international hearing aid manufacturer, assisting audiologists throughout the southeast region of the United States. She has been a presenter at local, national and international audiology conferences and seminars and has been recognized for her teaching contributions.
Linda received her Bachelor of Science degree in habilitative sciences from The Florida State University. She earned a Master of Arts degree in audiology from The University of Maryland and completed her clinical fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Linda is currently completing an advanced doctoral degree in audiology at Central Michigan University.
Linda is a Fellow in the American Association of Audiology (FAAA). She is a licensed audiologist in Virginia and holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Linda believes in a partnership with her patients to develop solutions for their hearing challenges. She is committed to patient and community education and dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with hearing loss through education, research and counseling.
Karen Shelton joined The Audiology Offices in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant and now serves as its Business Manager and Audiology Assistant. Karen's administrative skills and commitment to patient care exemplify the best of the best.
Karen works out of the main office in Kilmarnock, Monday through Friday. She expertly manages all patient billing, inlcuding the ever time consuming task of working with health insurance companies. Karen has completed certification as an Audiology Assistant for Diagnostic Testing. Our patients are happy when they walk in our office with non functioning hearing instruments, and most of the time, she can diagnose and repair the device on the spot. If the device needs factory service, she will provide a loaner hearing instrument if necessary.
Karen resides with her husband Mike and two daughters, Nicole and Danielle in Lancaster County
Janie joined the Audiology Offices Jin uly of 2007 as an administrative assistant. She is certified as an Audiology Assistant in Hearing Diagnostics. In addition to her adminimstrative and hearing related sevices in the Kilmarnock office, she travels to the Gloucester, Mathews and Tappahanock offices to assist Audiologist, Ann and Linda with patient care. As a true mom she is an expert in helping Ann and Linda when young children are being tested.
All our patients are surpised to learn, she has a severe hearing loss and has worn hearing instruments since she was four years old. Janie resides with her husband Aaron and son, Chipper in Middlesex county.
